Elementary G5

Grade 5 is an important step as students get ready for middle school. During this year, they build independence, think more deeply, and become more confident learners.

Our curriculum is designed to be engaging and challenging, helping students grow both academically and personally.

Students continue to strengthen their skills in core subjects like language and literacy, mathematics, social studies, and science, while applying what they learn through meaningful, hands-on activities.

In science, students take part in experiments and investigations that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and a stronger understanding of how the world works.

They learn to make connections between what they study in class and real-life situations.

Students also explore technology through our robotics program. They work together to design, build, and program robots, solving problems and developing skills in creativity, teamwork, and engineering.

By the end of Grade 5, students are well prepared for middle school, with the skills, confidence, and curiosity they need to succeed and continue growing as independent learners.

Language Arts
They continue to refine their reading, writing, listening, and speaking abilities. Delving into diverse literary genres, they analyze texts for deeper insights and engage in discussions to express their thoughts and ideas with clarity and confidence.

Mathematics

Fifth graders build strong math skills to get ready for middle school. They study multiplication, division, fractions, geometry, and problem-solving, focusing on reasoning, critical thinking, and applying math to real-world situations.

Art and Music
Through art and music, fifth graders expand their creativity and refine their skills. They explore different artistic techniques and musical elements while expressing their ideas and developing their own style.

Social Studies

In Grade 5, students expand their understanding of the world by studying history, geography, cultures, and communities. They explore how people, events, and ideas are connected across time and around the globe.

Physical Education & Health
Both grades emphasize active play and motor skill development. Through a variety of physical activities, games, and exercises, students work towards enhancing their physical fitness, coordination, and overall health.

Science

Fifth graders explore advanced science topics like ecosystems, Earth’s processes, life cycles, and the scientific method. Through hands-on experiments and investigations, they develop curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of how the world works.
