Language Language Arts
Second graders keep building on what they learned in first grade. They practice reading, writing, listening, and speaking every day to become better at sharing their ideas and understanding others.

Science
In science, students participate in hands-on activities and observations to explore the wonders of the natural world. They learn about various topics such as plants, animals, weather, and basic scientific principles through interactive experiences. 

Mathematics

Second graders learn about numbers, shapes, and patterns. They practice adding and subtracting to help them understand math better and get ready for harder math later.

Elementary  G2

Grade 2 builds upon the skills and knowledge acquired in Grade 1 and introduces more complex concepts.

Reading skills are further developed, and students begin to comprehend longer texts, infer meaning, and read for information.

Writing skills progress to include paragraph writing, basic grammar rules, and creative writing exercises. In mathematics, students learn multiplication, division, place value, money, time, and basic fractions.

Science lessons expand to cover topics such as the human body, ecosystems, matter, and forces.

Social studies lessons delve deeper into local and global communities, history, geography, and cultural diversity. Physical education, art, music, and other subjects continue to be part of the curriculum to promote physical fitness, creativity, and self-expression.

Grade 2 teachers focus on fostering independence, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and collaborative learning.

 

Social Studies
Students embark on a journey to understand themselves and others better. They explore topics such as communities, diversity, maps, and basic concepts of citizenship, laying the foundation for their understanding of society. 

Physical Education & Health
In 2nd grade, students engage in physical education and health activities aimed at promoting active lifestyles and well-being. They participate in active play, learn fundamental movements and coordination skills, and acquire knowledge about healthy habits and personal wellness.

Art 
Students explore their creativity through art . They engage in activities that allow them to express themselves creatively, develop fine motor skills, and explore various forms of artistic expression. 

Technology
In 1st and 2nd grade, students are introduced to fundamental technology skills and concepts. They learn to navigate digital tools and understand the importance of technology in their lives and the world around them.
